Eight New England prospects committed to college baseball programs in the last week, as recruiting season kicked into full gear. Three of those prospects committed to D1 programs in the Northeast. Two more committed to one of the top D2 programs in New England. The other three will be playing for top D3 programs in the region.
August 1 is a particularly noteworthy date for prospects in the Class of 2027, as college coaches can initiate contact with incoming juniors and extend offers.
A disclaimer for Class of '27 prospects: It's OK if you don't get any offers on Aug. 1. As mentioned above, three players listed below are Class of '26 prospects who committed to D1 programs -- nearly a year after college coaches could extend offers to them. It's a process. Aug. 1 is the start of it. You are not expected to make a commitment on Aug. 1, and even if you receive an offer, you shouldn't be expected to reply immediately. This is the day when you are allowed to kick off the recruiting process, nothing more.
