The end of the calendar year presents an opportunity for all of us in the baseball world to look ahead to 2022.
A few national publications have selected Preseason All-America teams, while governing bodies for several Division 1 conferences have released preseason rankings and all-conference selections. These preseason lists give us an indication of how coaches and media members around the country view the New England teams and players.
From the look of the early preseason predictions, it seems that there will be high expectations for three of New England's NCAA tournament teams from 2021 -- UConn, Northeastern and Fairfield. All three of those teams had selections to the Collegiate Baseball Preseason All-American rosters.
