The Division 1 college baseball season is near its halfway point, meaning that the top teams in New England are establishing themselves and players’ roles have been more clearly defined.
While just three or four starting slots are available to pitchers in the all-important conference series each weekend, others have taken over key relief roles on their teams.
Several pitchers on our list are freshmen or playing their first collegiate seasons.
These closers and relief pitchers have performed well so far in 2022.
