Despite some rain making an impact on the schedule, the first weekend of April was a successful one for many of New England’s Division 1 college programs.
Two clubs pulled out three-game sweeps to make a dent in their conference races, while Central Connecticut blew past its chief Northeast Conference rival with a Saturday doubleheader sweep.
It was also another winning weekend for UConn, as well as both of the region’s Atlantic 10 Conference clubs.
