The second weekend of the Division 1 college baseball season featured many happy returns for New England teams.
Four of the six local programs to debut came from the Ivy League, which had its entire 2021 season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Well over 600 days had passed since Brown, Dartmouth, Harvard and Yale played ball in official games.
Hartford and a pair of Northeast Conference programs from the region also got their seasons underway this week, while a few teams found their first wins and New England’s top team kept rolling in sweeping fashion.
This week’s edition of New England Baseball Journal’s Monday morning roundup covers all of those series and the rest of the regional action from the past weekend.
