There was plenty of history written during another weekend of Division 1 baseball action across New England.
America East play featured a no-hitter for a Hartford ace and UMass Lowell earning a crucial series win, while Northeastern continued the nation’s longest win streak with another home sweep and Fairfield finished its MAAC regular season with only one loss. The final game of the season was also a positive one for Holy Cross as it beat the Patriot League’s top team.
UConn returned to BIG EAST play for the first time this month and Fairfield’s MAAC rivals from Quinnipiac got back on the field after COVID-caused cancelations. Rhode Island was a winner as A-10 play heads down the home stretch. In addition, Bryant and Sacred Heart picked up series wins in the Northeast Conference.
As usual, this edition of New England Baseball Journal’s Monday morning roundup covers all of those series and the rest of the regional action.
