Believe it or not, the Division 1 baseball season begins next weekend.
As is the case during every school year, there have been plenty of changes since four of New England’s clubs clinched NCAA tournament berths and Vanderbilt hoisted its second national championship trophy in Omaha last June.
In 2020, it will be no different as there are new faces on the field, in the dugout and, this year, even a new program entering our region’s landscape at the highest level of college baseball. Players have gone and come, played in summer leagues throughout the country and navigated the fall and winter in anticipation of finally playing baseball that counts for something.
Everyone is 0-0 right now, but the time to play ball is just a week away.
