College baseball is back!
Following an abrupt end to the 2020 season and the year of unprecedented circumstances that has followed, five New England teams finally returned to the field over the weekend. Opening Day Friday marked the first Division 1 game action involving the region in 346 days.
The opening weekend of 2021 saw UConn and Northeastern pick up road victories against nationally-ranked opponents from the Atlantic Coast Conference, while Boston College broke out the bats en route to sweeping Charleston Southern, and Bryant started its campaign with back-to-back victories against another Big South foe in High Point.
Once again in 2021, New England Baseball Journal will look back at the weekend that was for New England’s teams and top players in this roundup each Monday during the season.
