A slew of COVID-related cancelations made this past weekend’s Division 1 baseball slate a shorter one across New England.
Despite six teams having their weekend plans wiped away, there was plenty of action around the region as Fairfield continued its dominant start to the season atop the MAAC standings and Merrimack posted a sweep as the winningest Northeast Conference team of the weekend. The Warriors’ conference rivals from Central Connecticut also continued winning ways.
In addition, two of the region’s America East programs met up for a pair of dominating pitching performances in Saturday shutouts, while Boston College and Holy Cross salvaged their weekend finales to enter the new week on a high note.
As usual, this edition of New England Baseball Journal’s Monday morning roundup covers all of those series and the rest of the regional action.
