The Division 1 baseball firsts are over for Stonehill.
As the 2024 season approaches, the Skyhawks are no longer new kids on the block. It’ll be a much easier feeling for longtime skipper Pat Boen (Brockton, Mass.) this time around.
“We didn’t know what we were getting into, right? The rosters are deeper, it’s the speed of the game and the athleticism,” Boen said. “This year, at least we know what we’ve got to prepare for. You don’t really know until you feel it or you’re in the game with it.”
Boen won’t have to think twice about which players’ names to write atop the batting lineup. With fifth-year senior Conor Kiely (Portsmouth, R.I.) and redshirt sophomore Sam Parks (Marion, Mass.) holding down left and center field and batting first and second, respectively, there’s a lot to like for a start to a strong offense.
