Bolstered by several talented Division 1 transfers, some internal gains and freshmen, the Minutemen have renewed optimism that 2024 will be a season of improvement after finishing 11th in the Atlantic 10 standings in back-to-back seasons.
While Reynolds’ club was generally good enough offensively, starting pitching and defense were oftentimes downfalls as evidenced by a 7.66 ERA and .954 fielding percentage that ranked second-worst and worst among New England programs, respectively.
“There’s a little bit of a refreshed vibe,” Reynolds said. “I think it’s a team that’s ready to win and get back over the hump after making some good progress two years ago. The group is committed to making sure that last season was a blip on the radar. … I think we’ve really been able to plug some of the leaks.”
