A banner season for Division 1 college baseball in New England is continuing at the best time of the year.
Beginning with Friday’s regional round action, five programs from the region are officially on the road to Omaha and the College World Series. Two clubs earned automatic NCAA tournament bids as champions of their respective conferences, while two of the remaining three had legitimate resumes for hosting a regional that likely fell just a couple of wins short during the month of May.
The region will be looking for more tournament success over the next couple of weeks after Connecticut came within one win of a World Series berth during its historic 2022 campaign.
