Quinnipiac made plenty of memories on the baseball field in 2019.
The Bobcats won their first-ever MAAC regular-season and tournament championships before beating No. 10 East Carolina during the team’s first NCAA tournament appearance since 2005, which was now-head coach John Delaney’s (Hanson, Mass.) freshman season as a player.
“We led the league in wins two years ago in 2018, but then we didn't do well when we got to the tournament,” going 1-2 after finishing 16-8 in the conference, Delaney said. “I think that year of experience in the tournament and not getting the end goal that you wanted helped build our guys up last year. We saw success because we were more ready for what was coming.”
