The guard may be changing a bit as Yale enters another Ivy League season, but that doesn’t mean the cupboard is bare in New Haven.
Though the Bulldogs are losing ace Scott Politz, shortstop Simon Whiteman (Trumbull, Conn.) and what may have been the best total class in head coach John Stuper’s 28-year tenure, there is some unproven talent looking to make an impact in 2020.
“It has really come down to the supporting cast members from the last couple of teams needing to become ‘the guys’ now,” Stuper said. “I think we have as much talent as anyone in the league, and I think the league is really even this year because, like we did, a lot of teams lost a lot of guys. It's just a question of some guys being able to write their own story now, so to speak. We have talent, they're capable, but we're going to see if they are able to step up and do it.”
