D1 review: UConn’s 40th win, Lowell’s series upset, NEC sweeps

Down the stretch they come!

Though most clubs have two regular-season weekends left, the first sign of playoff baseball has arrived for New England clubs as Holy Cross clinched a Patriot League berth and UConn added to its postseason resume by reaching the 40-win mark.

Elsewhere, UMass Lowell, Rhode Island and Northeastern all won key conference series, while Merrimack and Sacred Heart picked up Northeast Conference sweeps despite sitting outside of the playoff picture.
