If this past weekend’s results were any indication, several New England clubs were happy to see the calendar flip from February to March. The region’s two longest win streaks belong to Beanpot rivals Boston College and Northeastern, the former of which has swept back-to-back series and looks to continue its run in a midweek showdown with SEC power Tennessee. UConn heads north for its home debut following a sweep of its own.
Other highlights include Holy Cross’ best weekend of the young year, Yale’s first series win under Brian Hamm, and a milestone for our newest program at the highest level.
All of the region’s 20 Division 1 programs have games on their record. Massachusetts, Central Connecticut and Hartford all took the field for the first time this past weekend, with the first two clubs each emerging with a pair of victories.
This edition of New England Baseball Journal’s Monday roundup covers all of that and the rest of the regional action from the past weekend.
