The Division 1 college baseball schedule got even busier for New England teams as six more programs joined in on the season-opening fun this past weekend.
All four of the region’s Ivy League programs were a part of the group of teams that uncapped 2023, as were new D1 member Stonehill and its longtime foe and Northeast Conference competitor Merrimack.
As for the highlights, both of New England’s new head coaches picked up milestone victories, including one that set the tone for an impressive sweep of a returning conference champion. Three other teams finished the weekend without a loss, while Fairfield and Rhode Island also picked up their first series wins of the spring.
