The Futures Collegiate Baseball League offered a summer season like no other in 2020.
Just months after collegiate seasons throughout the country were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, some of New England’s stars got to take the field in the six-team circuit that saw a late influx of talent expected to be distributed to other leagues whose seasons were cancelled earlier in the spring, including the Cape Cod League and NECBL.
Thus, the Futures League was home to some of the best summer baseball anywhere in the country. With a new academic year just underway, NEBJ takes a look at some of the league’s standouts from Division 1 programs in the region.
