The first weekend of April marked the first full weekend of conference action across New England’s Division 1 baseball landscape.
UConn was the last local team to get its league play going and posted a strong comeback effort to take down the reigning Big East champions in a three-game weekend series.
However, the Huskies’ efforts only started a trend. Four New England teams recorded victories against their reigning conference winners, including one pulling off a huge sweep in a head-to-head regional matchup.
