And now, there are eight! For Division 2 and 3 teams across the country, the college baseball season has reached its final destination. Eight teams are set to converge on Cary, N.C., and Cedar Rapids, Iowa to begin College World Series play this weekend.

New England will be represented at both locales after Southern New Hampshire and Eastern Connecticut State claimed their respective regional championships. D3 action begins first as Eastern will shoot for its fifth-ever national title beginning Friday, while SNHU’s second straight trip to the D2 championship is slated for a Sunday start.

Both tournaments feature a pair of seeded four-team brackets playing a double-elimination style. The winners of each bracket will face off for the national championship.

Here’s how the Penmen and Warriors got to their respective World Series sites and their upcoming paths to a national championship.
