The first champions of the college baseball season have been crowned.
Three of New England’s Division 3 conferences reached championship conclusions to their 2021 seasons this past weekend. More are scheduled to follow over the next two weeks.
The Division 2 Northeast-10 Conference began postseason play on Tuesday, contesting their tournament entirely within the Northeast and Southwest Divisions until the best-of-three NE10 Championship on May 21-22. All seven teams in each division qualified for the playoffs, with the winners of two single-elimination games and the best-of-three Divisional Finals meeting for the title and automatic NCAA tournament berth.
Following the NE10’s Championship, the NCAA fields for both divisions will be announced. However, there is plenty of baseball to be played before then. Let’s take a whip around New England for some playoff updates …
