Eastern Connecticut State spent the first two weeks of the season looking up in New England Baseball Journal’s Division 3 Coaches Poll. After the Warriors rose to the No. 1 spot on March 23, however, they never came close to giving it back.
In fact, the Warriors climbed to the top of the region and the nation, finishing an astounding 49-win season with a national championship trophy in hand. Eastern was a unanimous No. 1 claiming every first-place vote in each of NEBJ’s last three polls, and four of its players were listed among our best in New England.
The 2022 season-ending edition of NEBJ’s Coaches Poll includes three teams from both the Little East and Commonwealth Coast (CCC) Conferences, as well as a pair from the NEWMAC. The champions of two other leagues round out the top-10.
This is the final edition of the NEBJ’s Division 3 Coaches Poll, which is voted upon by coaches and sports information directors throughout New England on a weekly basis during the season.
