Even though snow has fallen and temperatures have returned to winter-like levels of late, the Division 3 baseball season is underway for most of New England’s teams.
The return of regular action means that New England Baseball Journal’s Division 3 Coaches Poll is back on a weekly basis. This marks our first in-season edition of 2023.
The season is still very young for most. Only one of NEBJ’s ranked teams has played more than three games, while four teams that have already played a game remain undefeated on their early-season slates. Four different conferences are represented among the region’s top four teams, but four Little East programs in the top-10 lead the way. The CCC, NEWMAC and NESCAC each have two clubs ranked thus far.
NEBJ’s Division 3 Coaches Poll is voted upon by coaches and sports information directors throughout New England. It will typically be released weekly on Wednesdays during the season.
