Playoff time is here -- or nearing -- for New England’s Division 3 baseball clubs.
The final full week of regular-season action was busy and made for plenty of shifting in the ninth edition of our weekly rankings. While the top teams held steady, four clubs made great gains at the perfect time with less than two weeks remaining before the NCAA tournament field gets selected.
Of course, regional status has a major impact in how teams are perceived by the NCAA selection committee. Continuing to win over the next couple of weeks can go a long way, but a pair of 30-win clubs already means that the New England regions once again will be strong entering the postseason.
