Shaun Gamelin isn’t a pitcher that opposing teams in the Little East Conference want to see.
Luckily for Rhode Island College and head coach Frank Holbrook, the team’s rivals are now getting to see even more of the West Kingston, R.I., native on the mound this spring.
“Shaun has always had an impact since he’s gotten here,” Holbrook (Middletown, R.I.) said of Gamelin, who began his college career at Fitchburg State before joining the Anchormen in 2020. “He was in more of a closer’s role when he got here, and we kept him there because of how important the role was. … Going into this year, we knew we needed another No. 1 guy we could put out there every week.”
Entering his final go-around at RIC, Holbrook tabbed Gamelin to be that guy.
