While the majority of New England’s Division 3 players don’t generate the same volume of attention from professional scouts as their neighbors from higher-profile schools and baseball programs, the summer months offer them the opportunity to show their talents on the most even of playing fields.

Our region is home to three competitive summer circuits that welcome in players from all over the country. However, the nationwide scope doesn’t stop local talent from making an impact. While the bulk of New England’s talent played in the NECBL, Futures Collegiate League and elsewhere, several regional products saw time in the prestigious Cape Cod League.

Darien, Conn., native Richard Brereton pitched all summer for the championship-winning Cotuit Kettleers, while Babson catcher Sean Harrington (Walpole, Mass.) enjoyed stints with Falmouth and Harwich to bookend the summer. In addition, the Mariners had Mass Maritime’s John Teehan (Boston, Mass.) and Brandeis’ Greg Tobin (Medway, Mass.) throw on the final day of the season.

Focusing on the NECBL and Futures League below, here are some other New Englanders who will be looking to continue their summer successes as a new spring season in Division 3 begins:
