Being a Worcester Braveheart two summers ago was pretty much a dream come true for Holy Cross pitcher Danny Barlok.
"The Bravehearts offer a different experience, and every college baseball player should get to experience (playing in a place like Worcester) at some point in their life," said Barlok, who attended Saint John’s High School in his hometown of Shrewsbury, Mass. "It’s especially special being a local kid and playing in my home ballpark."
The friendly confines of Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field treat Barlok quite well during the springtime, too. He made 51 appearances for the Crusaders over three collegiate seasons, including a team-high 20 this season as a junior.
Barlok has been a key member of head coach Greg DiCenzo’s club since walking on College Hill for the first time as a freshman, but the graduation of 13 seniors from last year’s club meant that his role would expand.
