For nearly two decades, Suffield Academy has prospered in being one of the most-talented and successful programs in New England, if not beyond.
In his 15 years at the helm, head coach Bryan Brissette has laid the groundwork, building Tigers into a consistent power that shows no signs of letting up anytime soon. Suffield is the defending Western New England Prep Baseball League (WNEPBL) champions. The Tigers finished last season a perfect 14-0, capped by a league title victory over 2018 champion Salisbury School.
Brissette, who has been at the northern Connecticut-based school for 20 years, has taken the Tigers to the postseason in 12 of the last 14 years. They also won a league crown in 2011.
The former Harvard University Second Team All-Ivy League catcher and Loomis-Chaffee PG has continued to strive by keeping his club ahead of the curb moving forward. This past spring, Suffield graduated a pair of quality pitchers in Carter Cousins (Georgetown) and Tyler Van Dyke (Univ. of Miami-football), along with OF Ryan Coleman (UMass-Amherst), Max Malila (Eckerd) and Jackson Pentz (Emory).
