When Tilton School first stepped into the 2019 season, expectations seemed rather subdued. Rams longtime head coach Ken Hollingsworth could read the tea leaves. He knew the bulk of his squad was predominantly young and inexperienced. With that being said, the thought process tended to lean heavy on building and developing more than anything else. Certainly Tilton was young. Eight of its 12 team members were freshmen or sophomores.
“Truthfully,’’ said Hollingworth, “I wasn’t quite sure what to expect.”
The Rams fell behind the eight ball to open the season, winning just three of their first 10 games. But a majority of those contest were close affairs which, in turn, allowed the Rams to gain some much-needed confidence in the weeks that followed.
