An exciting finish to the regular season has led to the start of playoff baseball for the majority of New England’s Division 2 clubs this week.
Merrimack, Franklin Pierce, and Southern Connecticut are among the four vying for the Northeast-10 Conference title in Syracuse, N.Y., while Bridgeport will look to make a run in the East Coast Conference as the No. 3 seed. In addition, Post saw its season come to an end in a tough loss to open the Central Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament last Saturday after claiming another division title.
Upsets were a theme earlier in the week as lower seeds won all four single-elimination contests in the NE10.
Southern New Hampshire was ousted by rival Franklin Pierce, their first loss to the Ravens all season, and will sit idle until Sunday’s national tournament selections. Assumption will be doing the same.
