UConn Huskies vs. Coastal Carolina Chanticleers in the regionals of the NCAA Tournament at Springs Brooks Stadium at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C. on Sunday, June 3, 2018.
New England’s college baseball season came to an end last weekend with three Division 1 clubs competing in different NCAA regional brackets. UConn appeared in its second regional final since 2011, falling to Washington after eliminating host Coastal Carolina.
The Huskies earned their New England-leading 37th win of the season over the No. 15 Chanticleers, 6-5, to dig out of the loser’s bracket, but a 9-6 loss to Washington ended their season later Sunday. UConn was ranked in the top-25 nationally for seven consecutive weeks to end the season and set a program record with 23 wins away from Storrs, two of which came against Coastal in Conway, S.C.
