After the COVID-19 pandemic forced a longer-than-expected offseason in 2020, a new college baseball season is finally right around the corner.
With February upon us, the 19 Division 1 programs across New England are getting set to return to the field and start anew. The 2021 season will feature expanded conference play and more games in closer proximity to home in some cases, but the talent that will be on display throughout the region and beyond could be as strong as ever after a shorter professional draft kept some prospects in the college ranks.
Many schedules and some specific details about the shape of the season have yet to be announced, but NEBJ’s previews of the coming spring kick off with some news and notes we’ll be tracking for the region’s teams.
Don’t forget to check out NEBJ’s just-released Winter issue, featuring an extensive college season preview with a capsule look at each of the region’s squads.
