If nothing else, preseason rankings offer a starting point.
There are still questions to answer for each team as a new Division 1 baseball season gets underway for more than half of New England’s teams on Friday. As is the case every year, the upper echelon of teams in the region will look to make noise on a more national level in 2020.
That group of teams has not really changed from one year to the next, but every one has new challenges, new faces and new hope and optimism for the few months that lie ahead. That is the case even after a few of the region’s clubs earned conference championship crowns to carry momentum into the new year and five ranked within earned at least 30 wins last season.
