The countdown to the Division 1 college baseball season has reached its final week.
The extensive 2021 season preview in New England Baseball Journal’s recently-released Winter issue includes a capsule look at all 19 of the region’s teams, 13 players to watch from around the diamond who make up the annual All-NEBJ Preseason Team, and ranks the top squads with the NEBJ Preseason Top 10.
This edition of the annual ranking was voted on by NEBJ staff and Division 1 coaches from around New England. Weekly rankings will continue after the 2021 season begins on Friday, Feb. 19.
UConn still sits in the No. 1 position that it held at the end of the abbreviated 2020 season, while the top three teams remain the same -- albeit in a slightly different order -- from last February’s preseason edition. Both the Huskies and Boston College have received attention for national polls entering the new year.
