With two weeks gone by in the new Division 1 baseball season, all but one of the region’s teams have seen action and it’s time to resume New England Baseball Journal’s Division 1 Top 10 on a weekly basis.
The look of the rankings has changed since our preseason edition though the top three teams all enter the final week of February with three wins. All of Connecticut’s victories have come a College World Series finalist from a year ago while its fellow Huskies from Northeastern bounced back from a tough opening series with a sweep at USF.
There is one big mover this week as Merrimack has picked up wins in back-to-back series and leads all Northeast Conference teams in that category. The Warriors picked up three in four games against Big Ten opponent Michigan State this past weekend.
Beginning with this debut in-season edition, NEBJ’s Division 1 Top 10 will be unveiled each Tuesday afternoon.
