Div. 1 Roundup: UConn makes strong opening statement at Louisville

One doesn’t have to search too long to find the ultimate season-opening highlight for New England’s Division 1 college baseball teams.

Connecticut went down to Lakeland, Fla., and posted an impressive series victory against Louisville, ranked in the top-10 in five of the six national polls.

Six of the 10 clubs making their season debuts over the weekend recorded at least one victory. In addition to the aforementioned Huskies, Bryant was convincing in a series victory and Boston College swept three games.

New England Baseball Journal will look back at the weekend that was for New England’s top Division 1 teams and players in this roundup each Monday during the season.
