
The second weekend of the Division 1 college baseball season saw eight more teams begin play, but the stories certainly don’t stop there.
Connecticut jumped to the top of the headlines after its impressive finish to a four-game run against Michigan. It may be just February, but taking down the Wolverines could make a loud statement when it’s time to reveal brackets in May. However, the stories don’t stop there. There was an impressive series sweep, nearly another from Merrimack and two first-time head coaches getting their first wins.
In all, there were plenty of close games, tough competition and fun had in the warmer climates of the south and west. It’s time to take a look at some of the standouts.
