This past weekend’s results changed little in New England Baseball Journal’s fifth Top 10 of the season. UConn continues to lead the pack after sweeping Michigan State in a four-game, neutral-site series to run its region-leading win total to 11, while the five teams behind the Huskies all remain in their respective positions from a week ago.
New England competition and conference play both heat up for several teams. Among them, Boston College reached the 10-win mark after beating Holy Cross and league foe Wake Forest last week. The Eagles have won a game in each of their two Atlantic Coast Conference series.
Ivy League rivals Harvard and Yale continued strong runs of play in Florida, while Central Connecticut State was the weekend’s big winner after a weekend sweep of Saint Peter’s entering Northeast Conference play. Fairfield moves in after earning two wins over Brown, while Rhode Island got itself back into the mix with two at Wichita State.
