The greatest expectations surrounding New England’s Division 2 baseball programs reside in the same places as a year ago.
It is no surprise to see defending East Region finalist Southern New Hampshire at the top of the New England ranks and receiving top-10 attention in preseason national polls. The Penmen are among the teams opening their seasons on the weekend of Feb. 14 while others have a little while longer to wait to throw first pitch.
NEBJ’s preseason ranking includes a heavy dose of Northeast-10 Conference teams with the Penmen and Franklin Pierce leading the way. All four NE10 squads ranked within hail from the Northeast Division as well, but clubs outside of this bunch have some key pieces returning and will be looking to make noise themselves.
