The 2020 season is shaping up to be an interesting one for Division 3 baseball throughout New England. While several of the region’s top teams lost key pieces from a year ago, the dawn of a new spring hasn’t severely changed the look of New England Baseball Journal’s Top 10.
The top three teams all won 30 games a year ago and include the region’s pair of College World Series representatives. In addition, five teams ranked within are coming off winning their respective conference championships and seven had at least one representative on the All-NEBJ Division 3 Preseason Team.
Teams throughout the region are slowly beginning their seasons as soon as this week, but the calendar will really ramp up as the month of March nears. We are excited to follow the progress of the season alongside a panel of coaches and sports information directors throughout New England and introduce the first-ever NEBJ Division 3 Coaches Poll.
Beginning this spring, NEBJ is excited to expand the roster of Seamans Media’s popular weekly coaches polls to the D3 college level. Representatives from all eight conferences in New England were invited to participate in this edition of the poll which produced the following results in advance of the 2020 campaign. Team records in parentheses are from 2019.
