Division 3 rankings: Babson cements case for top spot in New England

With the month of March underway, the Division 3 baseball season is kicking into full gear for programs throughout New England.

The growing number of turf fields in the region has allowed teams to take advantage of some warmer temperatures by playing some early-season games before scheduled spring break trips to the south and western areas of the country. 

Just five of the teams ranked in NEBJ’s Division 3 Preseason Coaches Poll had played more than one game as of Wednesday, but one has already made a loud statement on a national level. That number will grow over the next couple of weeks, with the majority of teams slated to return north to begin regular game play between the middle and end of the month.

Before our weekly Division 3 polls return on a regular basis next week, we take a look at the progress of the group of ranked teams already playing ball as well as some other early-season New England notables:
