The East Coast Eagles travel program has opened a new facility in East Bridgewater, Mass., and indoor scrimmages are on the agenda for 2023.
The Eagles Performance Center, a 23,000-square-foot complex, includes a full-size big-league diamond, giving the Eagles a New England rarity -- an indoor space that can host simulated games. Program director Mike Bruemmel hopes to provide an indoor experience similar to what he saw in his college playing days at the University of Maine during the mid-1980s.
"Our goal is to have live scrimmages inside," Bruemmel said. "That will allow us to get better in all facets of the game. Most kids are stuck in batting cages during the winter. Now, we'll have a full-size infield with live pitching and hitting. We have Rapsodo set up on big screens with live pitchers and hitters. When the ball gets hit to the top of the netting, we can determine the trajectory and narrate the game."
Here's a look at the East Coast Eagles' offerings, along with a list of the club's '23 commitments.
