The college baseball season is set to kick off this week, with some of the top New England teams making the annual February trip south. There are plenty of storylines to consider, as it has been 11 months since the last NCAA-sanctioned games.
We know that New England is laden with top prospects heading into the 2021 MLB Draft. A handful of New Englanders are expected to be selected in the first couple of rounds of this year's draft.
We certainly recognize that much can change between now and the 2022 MLB Draft -- particularly when factoring in the uncertainty of the pandemic's impact on baseball -- but we're still taking a moment to look ahead to next year's draft class among New England players.
