Confidence goes a long way in baseball.
After flying to new heights in 2022, Endicott is armed with confidence and has its goals firmly set entering a new season.
The Gulls won a program-record 40 games en route to their seventh Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) championship and first-ever NCAA Super Regional last spring, but finishing 2023 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa is all that’s on their minds now.
“The individuals that played quite a bit and had banner years realized that they can do the job now,” said 16th-year head coach Bryan Haley (Hartford, Conn.). “A lot of them hadn’t played a lot because of the two COVID years, so I think that was critical for our program. … There’s just a level of confidence that you have in yourself once you succeed. Our guys got a taste of that.”
