Eric Cressey planned to make his presence felt at spring training with the New York Yankees as the newly hired Director of Player Health and Performance.
His positive impact was to be measured by the overall health of the players and their availability to play every day. Turns out that metric -- like many other metrics in sports -- has been rendered irrelevant by the impact of the coronavirus outbreak, which prompted Yankees general manager Brian Cashman to start sending players home on March 16.
"It's not how I expected my first year in pro ball to go," Cressey said.
