When Dan Sarmiento was 11 years old, he developed an interest in making short YouTube videos. Who knew nine years later he would turn the hobby into a broadening career move?
Since those early days of toying around with video equipment at his Exeter, N.H., home, Sarmiento has emerged as a rising baseball content social media star.
"I've always loved making videos and posting them online,'' said Sarmiento. "Even back when I was 11, you could find videos I posted on YouTube of backyard dunk contests, video game commentary, and my progression as a baseball player. The entire process of filming, editing, uploading, and promoting my content has just fascinated me for years.''
Sarmiento was a solid left-handed pitcher for Exeter High School. Following graduation, he received interest from one Division 1 school and a few inquiries from Division 2 and Division 3 schools. However, none truly appealed to him.
