While Merrimack won three games against nationally-ranked opponents en route to capturing their first Northeast-10 Conference championship since 1996, three other New England teams earned the right to keep playing ball at this week’s NCAA East Regional, which will be played at Peter X. Finnerty Field on the campus of Pace University in Pleasantville, N.Y., through Monday.
The Warriors won their way into the national tournament field for the first time in 19 years and will represent the region alongside conference rivals New Haven, Southern New Hampshire and Franklin Pierce. The East Regional Championship includes five NE10 programs for the first time in program history. St. Thomas Aquinas and Wilmington (Del.) round out the field as champions of the East Coast Conference and Central Atlantic Athletic Conference, respectively.
