Futures Collegiate League: Summer season is underway!

By Joshua KumminsMay 31, 2018

While three New England teams begin the NCAA tournament on Friday and Southern New Hampshire remains one of the final four Division 2 teams in the country playing ball, summer is officially here!

The Futures Collegiate Baseball League's eighth season opened Wednesday night with four of the seven teams in action, while the NECBL will follow suit next Tuesday (June 5) and the Cape Cod League a week later.

One of the FCBL contests was a rematch of the last two Championship Series as the two-time defending champion Nashua Silver Knights traveled to take on the Worcester Bravehearts. In this season-opening contest, the results were much different as the hosts were 13-2 winners at Hanover Insurance Park.
