An expanded summer is well underway in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League.

The first year of the league’s move to a 68-game regular season will reach the halfway point for all eight teams over the next week or so. Around the same time, the league’s best will convene at New Britain Stadium for the return of the FCBL All-Star Game -- following a one-year COVID hiatus -- on Tuesday, July 13.

While the number of games played varies slightly from team to team, the top two have emerged pretty clearly as the Pittsfield Suns and Brockton Rox have jockeyed for positioning at the top of the standings with the highest win totals. Both Massachusetts clubs entered the recent holiday weekend with at least six victories in their last 10 games.

Before the month of July kicks into high gear this week, here is a look at where things stand in New England’s youngest summer circuit.
