Auburn, Mass., native Tyler Beede spent the early part of the fall pitching for the Scottsdale Scorpions in the Arizona Fall League. There, the pitcher added to his innings total for the 2017 season, after having his regular season cut short with the San Francisco Giants’ Triple-A affiliate — the Sacramento River Cats — due to a groin injury. The 24-year-old right-hander was sharp in his final three Fall League starts. In 14 innings pitched, he allowed three earned runs — good for a 1.93 ERA — and struck out 10 batters with only one walk.
The Lawrence Academy alumnus and former Vanderbilt University right-hander is one of the top prospects in the Giants’ farm system.
